SCOPE OF CLASS FOR Basice Rifle & rifle Instructor (must have taken b.i.t. as Prerequisite)

There's much to see here. So, take your time, go to each section of this page and do the required tasks for the instructor portion of the class. The 1st day is all classroom at American Defense Solutions in Phoenix. The Second Day is for you to now to teach back what you learned and for the Training counselors to evaluate your Skills, Knowledge, and Attitude. You will be taking a written test, you will be evaluated on presentation and knowledge of information, and you will be evaluated on your own shooting ability. The most important part to remember is you are going to be transferring information to new students one day - watch intently how Jeff and Rich Present the information and how well you receive it - it will make such a difference in your success as an instructor to provide the information in a way that others will learn from easily. We're excited to be part of your journey and helping you to make a difference with training our community to be safe and know how to defend themselves with a tool that can make such a positive difference.

Please text us with questions. You will need to bring your laptop to see the Powerpoints and the documents that we list for you to download. There are some docs that you will need to print and bring to the class. This is important to do so you have a way to make notes and highlight. The first day is in the classroom all day. The second day is at ben avery and there will be some classroom and some range time. Bring your laptop both days with your charging plug.

The current instructor renewal rates have remained static since 2019 despite increases in operational costs. This adjustment will allow us to continue delivering high-quality training programs and maintaining the Basic Firearms Training Program with a focus on:

Continued investment in digital systems, including upgrades to the instructor portal.
Expanded development of new courses, to be announced soon.
Expanded instructor resources, curriculum development, and program support.

Additionally, this new fee structure establishes parity between members and nonmembers; previously, members were paying more between their membership dues and credential fees than nonmembers.

If there is a drastic emergency then please text us immediately that you are unable to attend and we will put you in the next class. If you are running late then text us. **MUST READ.... The NRA requires that the Training Counselor evaluates your performance. You must pass written test, teach backs, and shooting qual. in order to be certified. If you don't pass then you will need to attend the next class and repeat the class.

There is no cost to attend the class - we only require you pay the $35 range fee for retake of a qual.

TIME AND LOCATION OF CLASS

Day 1 basics of rifle event times

LOCATION: Ben Avery

TIME: 8AM TO 6:30PM

We will be in the classroom all day (NO Range time)

Lunch will be (1) hour and after range time. There are places to eat 15 min. from classs

Meet at Classroom - Try to arrive by 7:45am.

Day 2 rifle instructor event times

LOCATION: SMALL BORE BUILDING AT BEN AVERY * see map below - it's the first building on your right as entering into Ben Avery

TIME: 8AM TO 6:30PM

Lunch will be (1) hour and after range time. There are places to eat 15 min. from Range.

We offer a Carbine Skills and Drills program that is on the first Wednesday of every month at 5pm to 7pm - Jeff Smith will not be offering training but this is your chance to go thru drills setup by Jeff smith and you can run thru them with other individuals and build off of what you can learn from others.

What to bring to class

Book from Basics of Pistol Class
Handgun (in a case) - DO NOT BRING AMMO IN CLASSROOM
Magazines or speedloaders for handgun (at least 2)
Owner's Manual for handgun (optional)
Ammunition for handgun (APPROX. 300 rounds)
Cleaning Kit for handgun
Lunch (OPTIONAL)
Old bath towel or pad (to sit on)

What to WEAR

Professional Attire - Preferably tactical pants and a tshirt or button up shirt. You are here to be an instructor - have pride in your presentation.
Eye Protection – which may be worn over prescription glasses. Tempered Poly Prescription Lenses which may include Sunglasses.
Hearing Protection – Preferably bring Amplified
Walking Shoes or Sneakers, no Sandals, Flip Flops or open toe shoes, you will want good footwear
No Vee Necks, or Scoop Necks, preferably a collared shirt
Baseball Caps are ideal headgear for shooting, but they are optional
